Grants and Initiatives
In 2008, the Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi Foundation awarded grants totaling about $1.7 million to programs around that state that are creating a healthier Mississippi.
The Foundation also brought together leaders from across the state to discuss the climate of our state’s health. These leaders came to the Healthier Mississippi Summit from a variety of backgrounds, including education and local and state government, to discuss getting Mississippi on the road to a healthier future.
Close partnership continues among the grant recipients and the Foundation, with regular reporting on the results of the grant programs. The overall result is a healthier Mississippi.
